Monday 10/03: Atomic Structure

curricular goals

Goal 4: Learners will conduct investigations and utilize technology and information systems to build an understanding of chemistry. NCSCOS: 4.02, 4.04, 4.05, 4.06


warm-up

The atom is the smallest unit of matter that retains the identity of the substance.


in-class activities

1) Powerpoint Presentation: The atom’s family.

2) Remember to bring for Tuesday (Oct 11th):
-sugar cookies (Group 1 - 3)
-chocolate sprinkles (Group 4)
-multi-colored sprinkels (Group 5)
-candy cake decorating stars (Group 6)
-plastic knives and plates (All Groups)

3) Test coming Thursday, October 13th on Chapter 5 & 6. The study guide for the test is in the Holt text: pgs. 180 - 181; and 204 - 205.
