Wednesday 8/31: Satellites

Goal 2: Learners will demonstrate understanding of technological design. NCSCOS 2.02

Goal 5: Learners will conduct investigations and utilize appropriate technologies and information systems to build understanding of evidence of evolution in organisms and landforms. NCSCOS 5.04, 5.05

Satellites gather information about the Earth through remote sensing.

1) Define the following:

3) Chart Creation Activity: “Using technology to identify and address scientific problems.”

1) Complete the term definitions from class.

2) Gather information about a specific satellite and write a paragraph about its mission..

3) Bring materials to build your own satellite for Monday: (egg cartons, foil, string, tape, toilet paper tubes, etc...)

3) Create a Venn Diagram Analysis: Ground Truthing, Remote Sensing & Both
